Alejandro Castaño is a drummer, educator, and recording artist based in Denver, Colorado. He performs throughout the United States and abroad, including jazz venues and music festivals in Costa Rica, Columbia South America, Amsterdam, the U.K., New York, and more. In recent years he has joined the stage with world renowned artists such as Ron Miles, Steve Turre, Eric Bloom, Eddie Roberts, Nate Edgar, Benny Bennack III, Eric Gunnison, and Greg Gisbert.

Alejandro is also an avid educator. In addition to being on the faculty at Denver School of the Arts as a resident artist in percussion and jazz, he also teaches with the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts. He travels often to teach master classes at many different music conservatories and universities, such as Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, University of Colorado, Metropolitan State University, Bethany College and Telluride Jazz Festival.

Alejandro maintains an annual residency with the National University of Costa Rica alongside colleague and artist Joshua Quinlan. Alejandro can regularly be found playing his Welch Tuning Systems snare drum throughout Colorado and beyond.
