Andwele Simons
Independent Artist

Andwele Simons was born in Bermuda, where his passion for drums showed from an early age. Encouraged by his parents, Jacqueline and Andrei, he began playing at just two years old, often joining his father at rehearsals to sit behind the kit. As a child, he was a heritage member of the John Warner Bermuda Gombey Troupe, performing both as a dancer and a drummer. By high school, he was already performing regularly with his concert band and with a group he formed alongside his younger brother Jacqui and childhood friend Desta.
At 17, Andwele launched his own drumming school, mentoring and preparing young musicians for professional careers. Several of his students went on to study at Berklee College of Music.
As his career grew, Andwele toured with numerous bands, including The Unit and Working Title, and went on to hold the drum chair for artists such as:
• The Spinners
• Reggae artist Etana “The Strong One”
• Sia Spense
• McCartney Darrel
• The Wallstreet Band
• And many more.
He has also served as Music Director for Bermuda Idol and worked as a drum tech for fellow drummers.
Before relocating to Nova Scotia, Canada, Andwele teamed up with DJ Ko Minors to form the duo O32, creating a fresh blend of Afrobeat and Afro House rhythms.
From his home studio, Andwele continues to record for artists worldwide while building his online platforms. Recognized for his solid groove, clean sound, and infectious feel, he remains dedicated to being a positive and motivating force in the music industry.
"I am well known for my ability to tune drums well and effectively for most musical situations. Discovering WTS has literally chopped my workflow in more than half. I refuse to record records without them!"
